THE JOHN RIORDAN HOUSE. BUILT 1898. VACANT, BURIED FOR 60 YEARS, RESTORED 2012

Step back into 1898 with all the comforts of modern day conveniences. 2 bedroom, one bath, with 1200 square feet of wood deck and flagstone patio overlooking the center of the Town of Jerome and the entire Verde Valley. Easy (vertical) walking distance to the center of town shops, wineries, restaurants. Great year round weather and peaceful mountain air evenings. Stay in a 127 years old house which was buried in mud and abandoned for 60 years.

The John Riordan House is the highest rentable space available in Jerome. It is located directly above the center of town with fantastic views of the town and valley below.
This property has received the MOST TOTAL and MOST VRBO 5 STAR REVIEWS than any other rental in Jerome. This house is listed as the one of the top 12 VRBO's in Arizona. https://www.territorysupply.com/vrbo-arizona

A full two page story of the 81 and 86 year old Riordan brothers returning to their childhood home after it was buried for over 60 years was featured in the November's 2014 issue of Arizona Highways magazine.

Because of the steep terrain and gravel roads, we do not allow motorcycles at the property. This is for safety of both our guests and our direct neighbors.

Glad we rented a SUV, the drive to the house is gravel and my smaller car would have bottomed out, but loved our time here, thank you

Home in Jerome

Very interesting home. You, pretty much need a 4x4 for the road into the home, very rugged. Lovely little cottage, nicely restored with incredible views!

A View of Jerome

The house is on a hillside overlooking Jerome - beautiful views both day and night. Convenient access to downtown, although walking does involve a bit of uphill/stair climbing. The house is clean, cozy and full of antique treasures. A fun place to stay!

Great Short Stay

We had a short overnight visit but was a lot of fun. The drive to the house was on a very narrow sketchy road, but it was part of the adventure. :) the house was beautiful, clean, and very comfortable. The AC worked great. Outside gathering area was perfect for sky watching. We will definitely be returning. Thanks Glenn!!

Visit into history

Once you get there its an awesome place with million dollar views. I would recommend driving a mid size car as the parking and road are very tight. Loved reading about History and restoration of the home!

unique property with an incredible view

I'm a historian by profession and jumped at the opportunity to stay here. Plenty of atmosphere. Fabulous period furnishings. A splendid rook's nest above the old town of Jerome. No complaints whatsoever.

A true gem in Jerome

We LOVE this awesome unique house in Jerome! We've visited several times as a family, and have brought family and friends to experience Jerome with us as well. If you love character, a great patio, an awesome fire pit, and an amazing view- this is the place for you. Glenn is always so easy to communicate with as well:)

Trip Back in Time

It’s amazing to stay in a historical home and have the opportunity to enjoy the home’s very well documented timeline. This home exceeded our expectations and brought up memories for my aunts of their own childhoods. The five of us ranged in age from 51 to 86. The house had modern amenities and comforts disguised as period pieces. Evenings on the patio and porch are amazing! We were entertained by bats flying about. The property is extremely clean, well supplied, and has a beautiful view. The only downside is the second switchback onto Magnolia during the drive up. In a car you will scrape bottom, in a large SUV the 3 point turn can be tricky. This is absolutely no fault to the homeowner, and once parked the walk to town is super easy.

Experience of a lifetime

The John Riordan House is a truly wonderful place. The care with which it has been restored is only matched by the consideration that the owner has shown for all the potential needs of guests. Every room was comfortable and full of fascinating artefacts and information. Our posted pictures caused a minor sensation with friends and family! We were well advised about how to find the property, where to park, shortest walking route to town etc. We would recommend Glenn and his property without hesitation.
