“To be clear, we were happy with our stay, this charming studio apartment exceeded our expectations and we will return. The record player and books in lieu of TV is a nice touch. However, there is some room for improvement. The location is great but it comes with late night college revelers so earplugs are provided, but the noise did not bother us, a few simple patches here and there, add a few more good classic records and some relevant local literature, a guide book or two on the book……

“There are widespread mold in the bathroom and multiple stains on the towels. The boiler in the kitchen was not working until I figured out the outlet breaker was tripped. The kitchen trash can does not close well. One of the windows was open in this cold weather! Toilet seat is too small for a normal person. Most surfaces all over the unit have a fairly thick layer of dust. This cannot be missing a few spots by the cleaning person, this is pure ignorance of the owners. Communication was very……

“We had no heat all day Sunday when it was single digits outside. I asked where the thermostat was at noon and got excuses all day. At 4:00 I sent a message saying that we'd give them one hour and then we'd have to leave as it was freezing cold. Finally, at 6 p.m. someone showed up to turn on the heat in the downstairs apartment where it had been turned off by the tenants who had moved out suddenly. The property manager tried to blame me for not getting back with him to tell him we hadn't closed……

“This is a fantastic place to stay in Ann Arbor. Pictures do not do the apartment justice; it was clean, attractive, and well-furnished with everything we could have needed (e.g. extra towels and blankets, water and snacks upon arrival, etc.). Parking was easy - there is a reserved spot in the back - and the location is walking distance from the shops on Main Street (15-25 mins), campus (20-30 minutes), and Kerrytown/farmer's market/Zingerman's deli (8-10 mins), where we had breakfast each……

“Place was clean, fresh and well decorated. Check-in process was smooth. Host was cordial. App was acting up so messages were delayed, other than that, it was a good experience.”
