"The only thing that makes this hotel remotely worth it is the Hollywood hills view from your bed. However, unless you in floor 8 or above you’re not getting the best version that view. If you book the just the “Hollywood hills view” the staff will put you in a room on the 5th - 7th floor where there is an apartment building obstructing your view. I think they save the worst rooms for people who book with 3rd party booking sites or they just didn’t like us for no good reason. When we went back to change our room they told us there were none available on higher floors. So I went online to book another room and the ‘high floor Hollywood hills view’ were available for that night. As you can see from many reviews the front desk staff is terrible. They are ‘LA rude’. They make assumptions about you and determine your worthiness based on whatever they think. However, the Restaurant staff, cleaning staff, and Valet staff were all great and kind.
Outside of that the rooms are very dated, dusty and millwork is warping. Rooms and bathrooms are on the small size and they still use shower curtains in the bathroom. With a little lip so your floor is wet when you get out. I don’t know how this is considered a 4 star hotel. It’s hasn’t been worthy of 4 Stars in a long time.
Again the Hollywood hills sign view is the only reason we stayed here because nothing else is worth it. But if you ignore everything else and still book make sure you get a high floor."
