Disappointed when they told me last minute the room I booked wasn't available. They did put me in another hotel for the first night I was there, however it was extremely inconvenient. There were stains all over the bed sheets. I asked for an extra pillow and it didn't arrive for two hours. I had to go to the reception to get one. Then the fire alarm went off twice in our room and both times they said it was a false alarm. When checking out, they let me know I was checking out early. According to my booking receipt, I was supposed to be checking out that day, but they failed to tell me they gave me an extra night to stay due to the inconvenience on the day I arrived. Such a frustrating stay.

A Memorable Hotel but for all the Wrong Reasons!

Pros: The quality of the food at both dinner and breakfast was very good if a little pricey. The staff were pleasant and reasonably helpful.
Cons: Stop spraying the reception and lift areas with what smelled like cheap male deodorant. Most unpleasant. Ensure that basic equipment in rooms works.
Location: In middle of an industrial/business area with a sad looking canal running past, banks heavily covered in graffiti. On south side of city.
Initially we couldn't even get in to the entrance as the barrier to the "compact" car park was broken. Took us 20 minutes to get through. This was still not fixed when we left causing much peeping of horns, raised voices etc. throughout our brief stay. Reception in middle of the bar area. Decor modern but very dark full of strange lamps, prints etc. and the ubiquitous large screen TV's, Our room was a "plus" room but very small and overlooking the car park so very noisy even at 3.00 am! Bathroom had no fan, a slow draining basin but the shower was good. TV wouldn't work - even the manager was stumped, nor did the phone to reach reception, so we were moved to another room where the wifi ( cost of which was included but you have to pay for it first then it is repaid?!!!!) was extremely slow. Bedside power point didn't work. Single pillow far too soft so with carousing rugby players outside plus coaches arriving in the early hours and endless noise ensuing, not much sleep was had. Thank goodness the food was good - well cooked and presented though not a particularly varied menu. Breakfast (£15) also good with a wide selection of hot and cold food and really delicious breads and pastries. We were only in Ipswich for two days to attend a funeral but if ever we have cause to return we will look elsewhere for somewhere to stay. So disappointing!

Great hotel.

Pros: Very trendy and modern, perfect breakfast freshly cooked by chef, so no standing self serving with food that has been sitting, warming in dishes.
Cons: Nothing !
Location: Right on the river by the Sir Bobby Robson bridge, so easy to walk into town.
Perfect hotel ideally situated for a stroll into the town centre. Friendly, attentive staff and great value.

Hotel stay in ipswich

Was a great hotel in a central position 10 mins into town all in all very good would definatly be using again only down side was price of breakfast thought 15.00 pounds a bit steep saying that it was nice and plenty to choose from

Lovely hotel but far to noisy

Alot of noise from traffic trains deliveries to hotel and doors slamming 3 night stay we had 3 different rooms! It was a shame because the hotel its self was lovely

Bathroom is not designed well.

Good hotel - slow checkout

Comfortable stay, good breakfast. Free wifi is slow Checkout process is always slow, so pay for room in advance.

Quirky & excellent value

excellent value for money (£59pn) in a quirky characterful hotel with helpful staff. the only complaint was that there was a group of people who came in and out to use the pool table, not buying drinks or eating, which felt strange.

funky bar

Pros: The style of the hotel,I loved the bar and lounge area

Location: Very close to Ipswich centre,walking distance!
Cool hotel with a cool bar. The music and atmosphere was cool. The meal was quality!
