“We spent 3 weeks at Martin’s Comfort - late January to mid February. Our initial impressions were mixed, our room was great, really clean, lovely comfortable extra wide double bed, generous sized bathroom, balcony, good furniture with plenty of storage. We were initially concerned by the state of the swimming pool which was suffering an algae bloom - very green - and wasn’t usable. However during the next few days this was sorted out by the staff and it was lovely to have it back in use - not a……

“The staff were more than helpful, the pool area was ok, the breakfast was the same everyday and at best average. The rooms were terrible, old with many defects, we had to move rooms, but the supposed upgrade was poor. This hotel is most definitely not 4 star, possibly 2 star or 3 at a push, but that would be for the helpful staff. “The suite was clean, spacious and equipped with the absolute basics in terms of kitchen bits and bobs. Amazingly there was a top loader washing machine! You could always ask for other items, staff and manager were especially helpful. Useful contacts were all displayed at the reception, taxi, breakfast lunch and dinner available to order. The beech is approx 1 mile and walked to it most days. Good selection of restaurants on the beechfront and along the way, plus shops, wine/beer and pharmacies.……
