“The room was lovely and cosy and quite large. We had the best bed & sleep of our whole trip so far. The decor was thoughtful and we had a beautiful view. The continental breakfast was ample and included cereal, fruit, various pastries, juices, and coffee We would have loved to be staying longer. Would give it a five star recommendation anytime!”
“Kim was fantastic and cheerful to chat to each morning. Location of guesthouse very good and close to golf club and platform 1864 restaurant. Nice coffee and continental breakfast. Had trouble getting out of bathroom wirh wet hands and circular door handle . I left towel outside like silly sod lol.”
“The staff were very helpful in preparing an early packed breakfast to take as we left early. We had arranged a late check in, but arrived about 30 minutes earlier and it took more than ten minutes to try and find a member of staff to check us in! After that it was absolutely fine!
There was tea in the room, very comfortable beds, and plenty of parking! We only stopped over night so I cannot comment on the wonders of the cooked breakfast or other facilities, but it served out purposes well!”
“The Links Hotel is beautiful, well decorated and comfortable. We stayed in the newer building and when we walked into our room my first response was how much I loved the colors. Our room had a view of Royal Dornoch Golf Course.
The bed was comfortable, the sitting area very nice and situated to the view. The huge bathroom was spacious and luxurious.
We arrived to two little glass bottles of an Auld Fashioned with shortbread—yummy! There is an espresso machine and tea service outside the rooms……
“First it's not a castle hotel! We paid the premium to enjoy the scotish castle vibe, but there's none whatsoever. I booked via Expedia where the room was described have sea view - there was none, even worse, our room was on the ground floor far way from any other room, right next to parking lot. There was no castle vibe whatsoever, staff was friendly but quite short handed. There were drunk male group in the lobby chatting loudly and staff stayed away. Given the price paid, I'd give it 0 but to……
“Went to check in.
Staff asked for name then took key and took us to the room. Then left without any explanation or instructions. So poor communication when checking in. When checking in we stood at bar next to the radio which was very loud and I am deaf and couldn't hear or understand the staff.
Staff rushed to the room before we got to bottom of the stairs.
Stairs are very steep and wonky which is very dangerous but not good for people who are unsteady on their feet.

“The Golspie Inn is a nicely located Highland Hotel that I've visited before.
Our check in was fine and straight forward.
The room was clean and had decent facilities, but notwithstanding the location, I didn't feel it justified the pricetag.
The main bar area was closed so we had drinks at the restaurant bar.
The restaurant had a steady influx of people, But the two staff couldn't cope, to the point where the female staff member was quite rude to us, because we were talking and she couldn't……
