To anyone who thinks it is too expensive you are paying for the absolutely beautiful grounds, privacy and access to the river for swimming, fishing or just relaxing. We rented room 2 that was facing the river. It was very cozy with a comfortable queen mattress, a day bed, a little refrigerator and a microwave. It was all that we needed since we spent most of our time outside. There were several restaurants about a 5 minute drive away. The hotel is on the main hwy to the sequoias but felt like we had driven into the backroads. We will visit again just to be here and enjoy sitting by the river all day. I would not stay here with small children but older kids will enjoy exploring the grounds. We met only the housekeeper (I think) and she was very polite. It was lovely listening to the river and watching the stars at night. The rio Sierra river house hosts the best spot on the river to swim or just enjoy a tranquil morning sipping your coffee or tea. I highly recommend this spot to everyone for any reason, you will not be disappointed. Conveniently located in walking distance to a number of stores,restaurants, and is only a 4 minute ride to the Sequoias national park entrance.
