"It was an adventure finding Belmesnil at night without GPS signal. We checked in late after resolving a minor confusion with our reservation. Found out that we had the entire chateau to ourselves for the night. My wife was afraid of ghosts but if there were any at Belmesnil, they were of the most welcoming and considerate kind. "We have stayed in many chateau’s over the years in France but this was the worst. The room was dreadful, no room in the bathroom carpet disgusting light outside the window all night so unable to sleep. No lounge area or chairs to sit and drink with friends. No atmosphere in restaurant and food very expensive and it was clear we weren’t wanted!! The staff on reception very cheerful and helpful. Overall a terrible expensive experience "
