Property check in was easy, but then was the room and hotel it self. 1. Room was gross. Didn’t want to walk on the floors without shoes. Carpets are allllllll stained.. all different colors shapes and sizes 2. Walk in shower was gross and sticky. I cleaned mine out and bathed my kids in it. 3. Fountain hasn’t worked in years 4. Breakfast was gross 5. AC barely worked and it was hot.. I do not recommend and if you can cancel now (if you have booking), do so and pay a little more elsewhere.

Bus station right outside for convenient travel to Venice. A little disappointed because Expedia had a picture of a “pool” which turned out to be a fountain instead of a pool

Excellent staff and great breakfast but the hotel felt like a refresh was due. Nothing drastically wrong, just looking a bit on the worn side and the windows need cleaning. The area is ok but not as buzzy as you are led to believe in the blurb. For example, there is a marina on the doorstep but I didn’t see any boats. That said, I would stay there again at the right price.

We arrived early our room wasn’t ready but they still were able to get us checked in before 3pm. The free WiFi is lacking. Breakfast was ok. The room was adequate for our needs we were a family of three. Staff was helpful and friendly.

About 15 min walk to Venice Mestre station and bus station right outside - there was a bus strike on the day we wanted to go into Venice and the hotel staff did not inform us until after we had waited 25 mins for the bus to come that actually there is a strike. Air conditioning only works on certain days of the year in Italy too and you won’t get your room below 20 degrees. It was uncomfortable for us and will be staying elsewhere next time.

Worth the stay
Upon reading a few reviews about the hotel, area and quality of breakfast, I nearly booked elsewhere. So glad that I ended up booking at staying at this hotel. Firstly, the breakfast is one of the best spreads I've seen and I have absolutely no idea as to why some have criticised it. The food is fresh, plentiful, high quality and the largest range / offering I've seen in a long long time. The area is perfectly safe. Yes, there is a little bit of graffiti but you'll get that anywhere. It is well positioned near restaurants, a laundromat and supermarket (7 mins walk), the bus to Venice (bus 43) stops directly outside the hotel and it's $1.50 euro per person per trip. The hotel was a little dated in the hallways, and the carpet could probably do with replacing, however the suite that we stayed in was perfectly clean and tidy. The staff were terrific, check in / out was easy. The hotel arranged a taxi for us to the airport upon request. The bar is really good, though the hotel restaurant is currently closed due to the off season. The only criticism I could come up with is that maintenance seemed to be lacking. There were a couple of light bulbs that were blow, the toilet seat hinges were very noisy, one of the power points didn't work, one of the shelves in the closet was very obviously broken. I'd give this hotel a solid 9 out of 10 for location, value, comfort.

Air con switched off in winter. Boiling hot room.
The hotel turns off the air on in the winter. This meant there was no way to control the temperature in my room and it was like a sauna. I couldn’t sleep it was so hot. If I opened a window bugs flew in.

The hotel itself is primarily a corporate/ conference hotel, so be aware of that. The area between the train station and hotel is somewhat rough (a dockland area), so good to people to be aware of that if walking from train to hotel.
