This was a beautiful property and I will definitely be staying there if I return to Wausau. The hosts were so welcoming and made a delicious breakfast each morning. I just cannot say enough about how wonderful this place was. The most beautiful home and I am so grateful they share it with travelers.

Truly amazing hosts, Dan and Margaret make you feel so welcome. Their breakfasts are amazing, tarts and apple crisp to augment omelettes and pancakes! They take time to get to know their guests. The surrounding acres are beautiful riverside that you can take advantage of via kayak or canoe. It is adjacent to a YMCA facility so the stay is quiet and serene. Proximate to Rib Mountain park for hiking, or two renowned art museums, including the Leigh Yawkey Woodson "Birds in art" museum, it makes for a wonderful, personalized stay.

We had a wonderful one-night stay at Inn at the River. The property was exceptionally clean, comfortable, well-equipped, and beautifully maintained, with lovely gardens surrounding the inn. Dan and Margaret were incredibly warm and welcoming, and Theodore (sorry, my friend, if I’m misspelling your name! 😉), their sweet and friendly dog, made our stay even more enjoyable! They also prepared a delicious breakfast for us early in the morning so we could get back on the road on time, which we truly appreciated. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it!

This was my first time staying at a Bed + Breakfast and Margaret and Dan set the bar very high! Amazing hospitality, food, and location. Will definitely be back in the summertime!

I can't say enough about this gem of a find. Clean, cozy, comfortable, and quiet. And if you enjoy birdwatching and gourmet breakfasts, this is your kind of place. Our hosts were lovely and also enjoyed talking about all of the different varieties of birds that visit their property and their multiple feeders. I would have been happy to sit on our balcony overlooking the small river out back all day, but we were in the area to visit family, so we went into Wausau - just a short drive away, and also worth a visit. I think this place would be nice to visit any time of the year :-)

I am a booking agent for bands and a concert photographer, so I have been to many inns and hotels. This by far is absolutely the best stay I have ever had! The breakfast is amazing and the couple that runs it is absolutely the best. If I could give it 20 stars, I would. 10/10!

Stunning location

Absolutely beautiful B&B! Marge & Dan are wonderful hosts. They cooked us farm to table breakfast and home baked gluten free bread. Incredibly accommodating with my gluten sensitivity. Much appreciated. Grounds and view were spectacular! Highly recommend.
