Super cheap. Comfortable bed

I’ll just start by saying we booked late and this was one of only hotels left, so high price of room did not reflect quality and we are still had a great time at the event we went to. There was a note at front desk “staff stepped away” when we got there so had to wait to check in. Got a free water and rice crispy treat though! Front desk super nice. Room had funky smell and had to go to Meijer to get damp rid. Room had two small toilet paper rolls (about 1/4 of) roll when we checked in. Tried to stretch it by using Kleenex but eventually called down for more and was told it would be a while due to no housekeeping. My mom’s eye was swollen each morning due to contact dermatitis. Had to give her Benadryl and allergy eye drips because the sheets broke her out. Thermastat said room was 74 on check in, tried to turn down but already set at 68. So room stayed hot. Thermastat broken. Shower creamed like there was nothing under tub when showering. Bathroom door hard to slide open. Front desk bathroom had some weird film on faucet. Turned on/off water with paper towel. Breakfast GREAT ON FRIDAY MORNING! Not So great on Saturday and tastes like powdered everything.

Overall we had a great stay, but it started out very disappointing. My husband and I were on a getaway for his 50th birthday and we had stayed in a bed and breakfast the night before. I had scheduled spa appointments at 1pm so we figured we would go to the hotel early and see if they weren't sold out on a random Thursday night and perhaps they might have a room ready. We have traveled a lot and have never had a problem asking the front desk if they can accommodate an early check in. Sometimes, the hotel is unable to accommodate but they are always hospitable. When my husband asked the lady, she coldly said "check out is at 3pm" my husband tried to explain that yes, he was aware of that, but we do have a spa appointment at 1pm and wondered if there was a chance our room would be ready early. She didn't even let him finish the sentence before snarkily saying "check in is at 3pm" and then said "it'll be $10 an hour early if you want to check in. My husband considered it, but because of the icy welcome decided to come back to the car. We had zero expectations that they would be able to accommodate us, but were shocked by the rude welcome to a hotel we had never been to, but had been excited to try. If it wouldn't have hurt the spa staff to cancel last minute, we would have cancelled the whole reservation and went home early. Interestingly enough, when we both came in at 1pm she had no problem checking us in but there was a man standing there that was affiliated with the hotel

Very clean and comfortable

The experience was incredibly pleasant, and everything was meticulously maintained. It was an awesome time!
