"We absolutely loved Casa Shiva. We were there during the off season so everything was pretty quiet. We spent a LOT of time on the pier hanging out and reading and swimming - it was a breathtaking view and the water is beautiful! The employees were awesome - very friendly and helpful. Their breakfast was amazing too! We loved it and hope to be back. Its simple - not a lot of extra frills, which we loved. "

"There is no better location on the lake, especially if you rent a waterfront cabana with stairs leading directly into the water! Magical location a few miles out of town for those of us who don’t like noisy bars and street traffic. Attentive, friendly staff. Awesome swimming and views. Functioning AC. Pleasant, reasonably priced restaurant right overlooking the water. Truly a gem of a hotel. The rooms are spacious, simple, yet very clean and architecturally soothing. Elegant simplicity sums it up!"

"The hotel is small like 14 rooms and Adults only. Breakfast was included in our rate and it was fantastic. Service was very good. Only thing is it is remote, you need a car to travel to other great surrounding areas. Staff was awesome, very friendly and helpful. Free kayaks and they can arrange tours , massages for you They probably need a small gym. The lake in that area is a bit deep so you need to be a good swimmer or ask for their vests which are free too. Beware that the hotel allows people from outside the property for day pass or to eat there, even kids. We did not experience any trouble but most hotels in the area do that."

The grounds of the hotel are expansive and impeccably maintained. Everywhere you look, there's a sense of tranquility and natural beauty that adds to the overall calming atmosphere. Whether strolling through the lush gardens or relaxing by the water, the peaceful environment was a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. One of the highlights of my stay was the crystal-clear freshwater that surrounds the property. The water is absolutely incredible – so clear and refreshing that it felt almost surreal. I spent many hours swimming and simply soaking in the natural beauty of the area. Overall, my stay at Akalki Hotel & Centro Holístico was nothing short of magical. The combination of excellent service, beautiful surroundings, and the serene atmosphere made it a truly unforgettable vacation. "The apartment was very clean and attractive. There was a problem getting into the building as no one answered the door even though I came when I told them I’d be there. I had to wait in the heat outside for about 10 minutes and their voicemail wasn’t set up to receive messages. The pool was turning green on our first day, then became more green on the second. They did clean it on the third day, however. Since there’s a kitchen in the unit, there should be a proper cutting board. There were knives, spatulas and other things to make breakfast but it was weird not having something to cut fruits and vegetables on. Also, having salt would be nice. But overall, it was fine and the bed was comfy and water pressure was good. "
