I was really looking forward to a couple of days away with my husband and booked this hotel because of the pool and proximity to the lake. Upon arrival we were told our room was not ready even though it was the check in time stated. We ended up waiting almost an extra hour before we were finally able to get to our room. While waiting we went to the bar and unfortunately the service was not good. It took quite a few mins for them to even acknowledge us and when we finally were waited on the bartender was very unfriendly. Once we were finally in our room we found it clean enough but it had a horrible damp mildew like odor that never went away. I chose not to say anything due to how long it took to just get a room and we had dinner reservations. Overall I was pretty disappointed, especially as it was one of the pricier hotels. I’m not sure if I would return based on this experience. The hotel itself looks lovely and the property is very nice but the service and smell wasn’t worth it.
