10 days in Paradise
My wife and I chose this property to spend 10 days celebrating our 30th anniversary. Unbelievable. If you want a getaway spot away from the crazies on Duval Street, but within striking distance, this is the place. If you love nature, this is your place - Key deer, iguanas, amazing water life… Sunset views? Stunning. We also rented a boat to explore for a few days, the dock is such a great part of this property. Condition was stellar, completely as advertised. I’ve seen reviews questioning the water pressure, but that is not an issue at all. We had an amazing stay at this property and will be back…

Lots to do and see!
We caught mangrove snapper, numerous barracuda, hermit crabs, mud crabs, and anoles, and a drifting sea horse. We saw angel fish, grouper, parrot fish, a sand shark, sponges, stone crabs, horseshoe crabs, key deer, and an iguana, all under or on the pier. Bring a mask and snorkel! A/C was cold, tv never used. Cooked mahi mahi on the gas grill with a nice grilling pan we found in the kitchen. 40-55 minutes from anywhere you might want to visit in Key West also.

What we were looking for
We were looking for a spot that had easy access to the water and slightly remote. This place was perfect. Not a lot going on right around the house, but we could get out and do things with a short drive.

What a wonderful spot. The private dock, screened-in porch and open floor plan are just a few of our favorites. The host is lovely and the king bed is very comfortable. I loved all of the sea life to explore and the quiet sunsets. We will definitely be back! Loved every minute of our stay.

Secluded getaway in the Florida Keys
If you want a secluded getaway in the Florida Keys, this home is perfect. With only one neighbor next door, this is also a quiet place removed from the built-up areas. The screened porch was a great place to hang out to enjoy the vast water view. The long pier and dock was a good place to fish and swim. We not only caught fish, but also saw other marine life including stingrays, sharks & lobsters. The home was ideal for two couples with the 2 separated bedrooms and 2 baths. The kitchen was fine for the cooking we did and we also used the gas grill, which worked well. There was a Win Dixie on nearby Big Pine Key where we shopped for groceries. One day we went to Key West which was only a 45 minute drive. We all enjoyed our week here and would love to return someday.

Our favorite house in the Keys!
Our family of 5 had an amazing time during our almost two week stay! The location of this house is just unbelievable.....set back in a private and quiet area surrounded by trees and water. Key deer, raccoons, and birds were in the front yard every morning and evening and the daily sealife out back around the dock made every day exciting. We had different kinds of sharks, stingrays, sea turtles, dolphins, and so many kinds of fish come by most days. My teenage boys love to fish and spent a lot of time fishing. The fishing was incredible! We swam and snorkeled right off the dock and shore. We had kayaks and paddleboards delivered and the area is great for those activities. The house is very nice and was clean upon our arrival. The beds and living room furniture were very comfortable. There are plenty of dishes, cups, pans, utensils, etc. We used the outdoor grill and it worked fine. The house has some board games and many books. A couple beach towels were provided. The only thing I can think of suggesting is to provide some additional wash cloths in each bathroom just because they get musty smelling so quickly in the humidity. We have been coming to the lower Keys since my boys were 4 and have stayed in 7 other houses. This house took the top spot as our new favorite house. We definitely plan on staying here again!

Overall an excellent choice for a quiet stay
If you love silence and wildlife, this is the place for you. We saw dolphins, stingray, and turtles off the dock. We had deer every night, and even a raccoon. It is absolutely quiet. Check out Catherines Boat rental as they will deliver a boat right to the dock. The downside on this place is truly terrible water pressure. Very difficult to rinse out long hair. Also, something seems to be wrong with the shower in the master in terms of the knob--you're either scalding or freezing. The front door lock didn't work consistently either. Towels were old, and stained with bleach. Kitchen utensils were very old and worn--teflon pans that were flaking. There were no extras such as spices, oils, or anything shelf stable that would be typical in a VRBO of this caliber. No toaster, Instapot, or crockpot. No extra blankets anywhere. It's kind of like walking into a 1980's time warp. Also, no beach chairs are provided, and just a couple beach towels. In spite of the drawbacks, it's a beautiful setting, very quiet, and rich with wildlife if those are your priorities. Please know this is a 10 min drive to ANY services. That may be too remote for some people.

Great Family Getaway
Our family of five spent a week here and loved it. The wildlife is amazing! We enjoyed snorkeling, fishing and swimming off the pier. We saw so many amazing things right at the dock: tons of fish, lobster, a couple of sting rays, horseshoe crabs, and even sharks. There was even a pod of dolphins that swam by one afternoon! We also loved seeing all the deer that would come by every day. We rented a boat for a couple of days and went out to Looe Key and a couple of nearby reefs to snorkel which was incredible. Our family loves adventure and for us, this place was perfect.

Amazing!
This place is incredible. We are used to country living and this was a great fit for us. We were out in the country, away from the hustle and bustle but close to all the places you’ll want to check out like Key West. There is a nice beach close by too. Loved having Key Deer in the backyard. The dock is the best part. Bring your fishing poles and lots bait and tackle, you’ll need it. Bring bug spray! If we ever make it back to the keys we will stay here again for sure. (The couch needs updated but hey, you’ll barely use it so no worries.)

Awesome place
Had a great time, we watched deer moving through the yard daily. Loads of fish off the dock, kids had a ball snorkeling in the shallows. Only thing it’s lacking is a way to wash down the boat which we knew when we booked and a way to wash down fishing rods. That’s literally the only thing this place lacks!!!! Watched some of the most beautiful sunsets off the dock.

Beautiful deck and views!
The location, views and privacy of this property were unbeatable! Most of our time was spent outside on the screened patio or on the dock. However inside, needed some updating. The living room furniture is outdoor furniture and the appliances are outdated. Basic necessities were included, however we stayed for a week and ran out of toilet paper and paper towels. Overall, it was a beautiful property perfect for what we needed and with a few amenity upgrades, could be even better!

Even more special than we thought
This serene and well-kept property, situated to savor all the natural beauty and unique character of the lower Keys, was all that we expected and more. It looks to be very recently updated, with everything in good order, a screened porch with a spectacular view we took full advantage of every day, and an amazing dock which was like a viewing platform for all kinds of sealife, from dolphins to sharks to colorful reef fish and horseshoe crabs. Most of Big Torch Key is a wildlife refuge, so expect to see little Key Deer and many different shore birds as well. We rented kayaks from Captain Markus who delivered and picked them up (highly recommend) and went paddling on the flats every day we could. For those who like to cook, the kitchen is adequately supplied with cookware although a better citrus juicer would be nice (the hand squeezer is too large to use on key limes, oh my!) As other reviewers have noted, the couch cushions in the living room could use an upgrade. Another tiny nit: there were a couple tears in the porch screens, so a few mosquitos and no-see-ums did find their way in; we had to keep the sliders closed all the time to keep the bugs out of the house, and kept the fans going on the porch to minimize the bugs' presence after dark. Renters should know that the house water comes from a cistern on the property, so the water-saving showers are pretty anemic, and you should be careful about not wasting water, but that's a small price to pay for staying in a natural paradise. We even tried to book it for the same dates next year but it's already taken!

Wonderful Stay
The location was great. The beds were comfortable. The outside screened in porch was our favorite place to hang out. The only concern was no outdoor lounges or chairs. The outside furniture/beach chairs definitely need to be replaced immediately. It would be nice to have a few outside “toys” available too. Other than that I give this house and location a solid 5 rating.

We had such a great time at the house. It was exactly as described - clean and bright and ready for the week. Our stay was effortless and relaxing for the whole family. Every day was an adventure on the dock spotting marine life. We rented SUPs and kayaks from a local place that delivered to the house. So much fun. Will definitely be coming back!!
