“La Finca La Amistad was one of the highlights of our Costa Rica trip. The property is beautifully maintained and filled with an incredible variety of plants. As nature lovers, we were fascinated by the organic cacao farm and even got to see vanilla vines for the first time. The cacao tour was excellent and gave us a new appreciation for the work that goes into producing chocolate.
Breakfast was included and featured plenty of fresh ingredients grown right on the farm. They did a wonderful job……

“This is a wonderful location near the national park. If you are wanting to hike the waterfall trail in the national park, it is only about a 5-10 minute drive from this hotel.
The hotel is unique in its design and location. It is nestled into the natural surroundings, and the grounds are lovely. There is a further hike across the road on some grounds owned by the hotel, and it is a nice little introduction to the rainforest. There are multiple bird species in the garden.

“Wonderful simple cabins that are reminiscent of Costa Rica of the past, with very kind helpful hosts. If you’re looking for a quiet clean escape into the cloud forest, this is the place. We were so happy to see all the hummingbirds while we enjoyed the excellent coffee and fresh fruit juice in the morning. The private trail was a moderate hike to a gorgeous waterfall and was a great taste of the beauty of the area without the crowds of Tenorio. Our 6 year-old loved seeing the red-eyed tree……

“Jardín Entre Montañas was one of our most memorable stays in Costa Rica. The family who runs it is incredibly kind and welcoming, and you can feel the care and pride they have put into everything.
The cabins are very cute, simple, and spotlessly clean—clearly built with love by the family themselves. It feels personal and genuine, not commercial. The gardens are beautiful, peaceful, and private. They also gave us a night tour where we saw tree frogs and birds, which was a highlight.

I mentioned that we would be celebrating our daughter’s bday while we were there and they knocked on the door with a huge slice of chocolate cake and a candle and sang Feliz cumpleanos.
