"First time we stayed in a Shepard hut . Went to Cornwall for some surfing at various beaches . The hut is very close to wadebridge shops and pubs and there’s local supermarkets close as well . It’s very very quiet and private as well , and there’s a log burning hot tub , at the property as well and a couple of sun loungers .there is some cooking equipment if you are prepared to make a meal using 2 hob stove . As I can cook almost anywhere given a pot and a heat source I found it ok to cook meals...

"Staff were great and most helpful. Chose to dine in the bar area and not the restaurant and the food was fantastic and value for money, drinks are a little more expensive than the norm. Room was clean, nice bathroom, would recommend for a stop off in the area, Dont expect 4/5 star luxury the building is 18th century and for that you have to take the fact its not modern but it is a fantastic place with lots to read and see everywhere in the building"

Bodmin Jail Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"Two night stay and really can’t wait to stay again. The room couldn’t be faulted for beautiful facilities. I would have liked the bottled water to be replenished for the 2nd day. Nice complimentary fizzy pop in the mini bar. The food quality is exceptional. We ate in The Chapel the first night and couldn’t fault it. All staff are exceptional, professional and very friendly. The 2nd night we ate in the bar and again couldn’t fault the food. Takes a little getting used to how to get around especially when the bar is closed as tou have to wander through the breakfast room to get to the cafe to buy water. The only issue I had was the smell of stale sweat and BO wafting through from the gym was really off putting. It made the staiwell stink."

Keepers Cottage - sleeps 2 adults, 2 children and your dogs

10/10 Excellent
"Rooms were clean Beds comfy Bathroom is very small but worked fine for us, Kitchen equipment well stocked and cream tea in the fridge was excellent! Games were fun for kids to look at Stairs are quite steep, we kept dog down stairs with a baby gate. Such a good set up for travelling with a dog though, little enclosed outside area and then a big exercise field which inlet my six year old walk our dog in by himself as it was safe and close to the house. The farm had some great easy walks straight out the door and then we only needed to be in the car for 25-40 minutes and we were at a beautiful beach on north and south Cornish coasts. All neighbours and "staff" we interacted with were very friendly - thank goodness as I have two very chatty kids- and the resident dogs are very sweet and loved chatting to my old boy. The kids had a great time and keep talking about our cottage. We all miss the Piggies. I didn't really know what I was going to as the pictures on Expedia are not really of the house and I just needed to get away. The reviews were really good of Keepers so I took a gamble. Im really glad I did. This surpassed all expectations, was a great price and we will be back."
