There's so much to do in Puerta de Tierra, but venture farther afield and you'll find even more magic. Arrange a set of wheels and you can discover the greater area at your own pace. Add these awesome destinations to your travel plan:

• Make your way to Culebra for an excellent sightseeing adventure. Around 55 miles from Puerta de Tierra, it's home to tons of inspiring sights such as Flamenco Beach.
• Around 35 miles away, Garrochales is also a favorite with wanderers. Set aside time to get to Bosque Estatal De Cambalache while you're here. It's one of the reasons people love staying a while in this buzzing city.
• Playa Sardinera is 120 miles from Puerta de Tierra and is one of the region's most scenic nature spots. Go for a wander around and enjoy the fresh air here.

If you don't have a driver's license issued in Puerto Rico, then it's likely you'll need to get an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your home country to be allowed to rent a car.
