Hotel Margot was not my first choice. I had reservations elsewhere but had to change due to hurricane damage. Expedia was excellent in notifying me of the issue and helping me to find an alternate location on short notice. Hotel Margot reminds me of a well-kept 60's era beach motel. It is relatively well kept and clean. My check-in was delayed as the room was not ready by check-in time. The receptionist was very accommodating and apologetic. I have only 2 real complaints with the room - the shower was dark as there were no lights in the shower itself and the lights in the bathroom did a mediocre job of lighting it. My other complaint is one that seems to be becoming more common - the TV only really offered streaming services. Just trying to watch some local (or network) news was problematic and not worth the effort. Unfortunately, this is becoming all too common these days.

I loved my stay here. The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was great-lots of counter space, which I needed, and the shower was huge. I didn’t have a view (except for the road and the condos next door), but I didn’t need one. The beach was right there and I spent a LOT of time on it. The staff were friendly and helpful. The walk to the beach is less than a minute and the pool was nice and clean, and it wasn’t crowded. I am not a morning person, but I dragged my butt out of bed and went downstairs for the breakfast, and it was worth it every morning. They had a great spread. It was quiet, as it is more of the off-season. The only drawback I had was there was no WiFi for the first three days I was there. No Wi-Fi meant no tv, as it was digital cable. For me, it was not really a big deal. They had, quite literally, just gone through a hurricane, and in no way can I blame them for it not working. Overall, I was extremely impressed. For the price point, it was way above my expectations. I was there for a wedding and my sister stayed somewhere that was twice as much, and nowhere near as nice. I am looking forward to traveling again down there in the spring and will definitely look into staying here again. 10/10 would recommend.
