“I don’t like to leave bad reviews but this was the dirtiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Whole room was damp. The bedding felt damp. Floor felt damp. Towels, too. Mold under the light shade. Dust on the outside of the shade. Mold in the bathroom fan. Mini fridge smelled like something died in there. A gross bloody stain on the side of the bedding (fitted sheet). Clogged shower drain. Ice bucket had something gross in it. Ice machine was out of order. A rotten apple in the fruit bowl for the……

“This is not your typical hotel stay, so when I say everything was well maintained, service was good, etc, it accounts for the fact it is a very old home with some original or era appropriate things (such as old doornobs which my daughter commented on), and that it is a true B&B so it is their home and they have lives and it is not a standard hotel setting (they had a hair dryer, just not in every bathroom). “This is one of the few chain hotels close to Nauvoo. After checking in, I decided I would’ve rather driven 3 hours south to get to St. Louis than stay close to Nauvoo at this hotel. It didn’t feel clean. It smelled of bleach and random fragrant smells that differed between rooms. The breakfast looked gross. There was pubic hair all over the floor in the bathroom. I’m not sure why the reviews are favorable. This isn’t much better than a super 8. The female night manager/worker talked so much……

“We stayed here overnight for 4th weekend. The property was very clean, staff was kind and welcoming. We have a dog and there are two places for restroom with doggie bags and a trash can! They even give you a door tag to let the cleaners know you have a dog. We also got welcome and departure water bottles, which was amazing after and before a day of travel. “Overall the experience was good. My only issues were that my window ended up facing another building. I didn't mind it too much so it wasn't a huge issue. Just a heads up for others that it may be a possibility. The other issue was that the exhaust in the bathroom runs non-stop. There is no switch to turn it off.
