Good budget option close to downtown Halifax and the waterfront. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and had a fridge. The building is old and there is no elevator, but for the price it was a fair stay. It would be nice to have at least an electric kettle in the room.

Commons Inn needs a lot of work. It is quite run down. The positives were the excellent location close to good places to eat and also the willingness of staff to store luggage, but the room was really basic.

No parking at the property but luckily I found a spot within 2 blocks on the street. The room was small but , quite modern. The water in the shower was hot and the bathroom was clean. What really surprised me was the lack of tea or coffee for guests. When I asked at the front desk re coffee I was direct to a store across the stréet!

Nice helpful staff. Very little security in the building, door knob not attached on the room door, mold around shower door. Had to pay $20/night for parking in the back alley uncovered and no security. I would not stay there alone.

I have never stayed in a hotel that has no window. It had curtains, but when they were opened, a wall was there. It definitely needs a face lift on the inside. Pictures are never accurate with the actual room itself
