The Barn Studio on 280 acre Sevier River Ranch - 1 King and 1 Twin bed

The Barn @ Sevier River Ranch & Cattle Company is a private studio style apartment located on a quiet 280 acre cattle ranch in Hatch, between Bryce Canyon (25 mins) and Zion National Park (50 mins).

The air conditioned and heated Barn is newly decorated with ranching antiques and consist of a main room with a king bed and a twin bed, a kitchenette with sink, microwave, refrigerator and "Nespresso" style automatic espresso and coffee maker (no stove or cooking utensils) and a private bathroom with bathtub/shower combination, toilet and sink. It sleeps 3 people.

High speed Internet service (free wifi) and DirecTV satellite TV service are available.

Two new cabins (Farriers Quarters and The Tack Room) that sleep 4 each and have full kitchens have been added to the same building - motel style. Two river view cabins are located on the ranch about 100 feet away: the Ranch Hands Bunkhouse and the Wranglers Quarters (each sleeps 2 in one California king bed), available for rent via separate listings. Should you need even more space for your group, you may consider renting the main Ranch House which sleeps 6 and is available via separate listing.

You will enjoy a good night rest in eery silence. If you're from the big city, it will take some getting used to!

The property is equipped with state-of-the-art electronic locks so that guests can check themselves in at any time, and late check-in is not a problem. Guests can roam freely on the ranch as well as fish (with a Utah fishing license, that can be purchased online) and swim in the Sevier River.

We are always available to answer any questions or give you tips for daytrips or restaurants. We speak fluent French, German, Spanish and English. Do not hesitate to reach out with any question, prior or during your trip.

Whether you are looking to explore the natural wonders of the area (the Barn is located between 2 of the most visited National Parks in the country) or whether you're an animal lover (there are horses and cattle on the property from Jume through December, many deer roam the property, and we have the biggest animal shelter in the US is 45 minutes away), the Barn has it all.

Location

The Barn is located on the Sevier River Ranch in Hatch, a small rural town of 200 people. Locals are very friendly and helpful, and you shouldn't hesitate to ask anyone for tips and recommendations.

The Sevier River Ranch is very private on the edge of town. It sits on 280 acres and is traversed by the Sevier River, and there are typically 100+ head of cattle on the property during the summer season.

Note that there are no grocery stores in Hatch and you should plan to bring at least some food with you. The nearest grocery store is in Panguitch (15 mins) and you will find a Walmart Supercenter in Cedar City (1 hour).

There is no public transportation. You will need a car. A 4x4 or high clearance is recommended in order to enjoy the surrounding off-road trails, but a regular low-clearance sedan is sufficient to access the Barn itself.

We have a strict no-pet and no-smoking policy.

The Barn
The Barn is a Very clean property. The drive up to it is beautiful and peaceful. We drove in close to sunset, and once inside the duplex, we were able to unwind and relax. If you look only at the pictures online it would appear more isolated, and while that is definitely not the case, (there are multiple other buildings close by) the other buildings are in places that allow you to look out the window and not feel like you're looking into someone else's space. The only negative we felt was that when we entered, we could hear voices (maybe the TV in the adjoining room?) and throughout the night someone on the other side of the wall kept hitting the wall (maybe the headboard?) waking us up. The bed is cozy and comfortable, and the wildlife in the morning was enjoyable. We didn't get to walk the property, yet it looked like it would have been a connection with nature in a beautiful surrounding.

Rustic and Comfortable 😊
The pictures in the website didn’t do justice to this place. The space inside the cabin is bigger. The beds are very comfortable and felt luxurious. It was about 30 minutes drive from Bryce Canyon but worth it. This is the place if you want peace and quiet after a tiring day visiting the canyons.

We loved staying at The Barn! It was the cutest little cabin and just the perfect distance between both Bryce National Park and Zion. The place was clean and the farm itself was just beautiful. When we come back out that way, we will definitely stay there again!

We enjoyed our stay, clean and comfortable bed, a chance to enjoy a rural setting, very peaceful and quiet with dark skies, enjoyed gazing up at the Milky Way. 5 minutes off of Highway 89, midway between Bryce and Zion, great stop on the road between the parks.

Good stay
Great location between Zion and Bryce. The grounds are beautiful. Some unfinished renovations that the owner had recently done caused a problem with hot water, but he addressed the problem right away. The cabin was supplied with amenities as described. Two things to note: there are lots of flies in the area, so if you keep the door open for long, you will probably have to use the fly-swatter that Gordon the owner supplied. Also, to do laundry by machine, you have to travel a mile to Hatch, so we did laundry by hand. No complaints to Gordon about this, since the description never implied otherwise. All in all, a good stay and we are happy we chose to stay there.
