Thankfully, the innkeeper was able to relocate us to the one bedroom available on the first floor, where we escaped the noise and had a good stay. The home is over 100 years old and as much of the original decor and furniture as possible has been maintained. Needed updates, such as a large shower stall, were well done. Each floor has a butler's pantry where you have access to a refrigerator, hot and cold water, variety of beverages, and free microwave popcorn. I thought the Continental breakfast was excellent, including juice, fruit, hard cooked eggs, yogurt and a large variety of breads and pastries. However, my husband was very disappointed that there were no cooked offerings. The innkeeper recommended that we go to the Tinker Street restaurant for dinner. It was within easy walking distance of the inn so we didn't have to deal with moving the car and parking. It was a wonderful recommendation. We had a peach and burrata salad, crab scampi, and their signature dessert homemade ricotta donuts. It was all excellent. Our only concern about the Looking Glass Inn is that we thought the room might be too warm at night. Although the shared areas of the building were air-conditioned, the rooms are not. And we were unable to open the window to get fresh air. Emily was awesome, but the first desk manager we spoke to was less than helpful when we inquired about a fan for our 85-degree room, saying the weather was "cooling down" and they'd "look into it". Which they did not.
