“The positives: good location for access to Daylesford while still retaining a rural feel, cute tiny home, comfy loft bed, nice property although we didn’t get to see it in its full splendour as it was winter, friendly host, and easy check in. The compost toilet was not too bad, and didn’t smell. What could have been better: some things were not replenished prior to our stay such as dishwashing liquid and matches to build a fire, so our plans for s’mores was a bust. “A fantastic little getaway. Tara Cottage was a perfect space for a quick little overnight stay in Daylesford. The place was immaculate, all the amenities were provided from oversized towels to a coffee machine, lots of choices on the TV and a comfy, warm space. Check in was easy, Prue is a wonderful host and we felt very safe and comfortable at the cottage. We didn't bring our dog on this trip, but the food and water bowls (plus treats!) were a welcomed amenity had our pup joined us. Really……

“The property was a bit tired, clean and fine. The bed was very uncomfortable for me and my wife so we didn't quite get the full R&R we'd hoped for. I'm guessing the bed is quite old, it was saggy on each side with a raised section in the middle which is typical for old beds, so not easy to get a good night's sleep - and that is in the top couple of things we are after in accommodation. Spa tub was hot, everything easy otherwise, though I did feel like no-one checked the freezer seeing as there……

“Our stay at The Ridge by Tiny Away in Daylesford was frustrating from start to finish. Communication was poor throughout - we received no booking confirmation until I chased it up, and only found out one hour before check-in that the heater was broken, during a freezing weekend. We were offered no suitable alternative or support.To make matters worse, we paid 300 for one night, only to see the same night listed online for 100 (so they hadn;t even blocked out our stay, causing stress we weren't……
