“Very comfortable and welcoming place! A real hidden gem not too far away from the city. The house and property and gorgeous, the breakfast is big and delicious, and the programs that they run are great. I attended a Reiki circle that I found very helpful and relaxing. The shiatsu massage chairs are also excellent. I would return and I will recommend Rising Star!”

“Suite was homely and cozy, downtown Peterborough is fairly accessible by car, and convenience store right down the road. The property has a beautiful garden visible from the patio with lots of birds visiting for those into birdwatching. Host was knowledgeable about attractions in the area, recommending multiple places for us to visit.”

Also you will not get breakfast like that at a hotel. Served when YOU are ready to eat. My kind of place. Martin and Petra are kind and direct hosts. If they were all like this I would NEVER stay in a hotel again.”

“The hotel was nice and clean. No breakfast included. I forgot my toothbrush and most hotels would have complimentary toothbrushes but not this hotel. I had to buy one. The staff were pleasant. Our friends stayed and booked a stay and play at the casino and were given free coupons for breakfast and supper and free play at the casino but when I called to book, I was told it was not available so paid way more for the room and no free perks.”

The pool area can use an update; it looks a bit run down but we really enjoyed the indoor and outdoor transition! Thin walls made hard to rest properly, between wedding goers and some teenagers knocking at our doors randomly...”

“The hotel service staff are very welcoming and make people feel comfortable. But the facilities are too old, and the exhaust fan in the bathroom is very loud, which is unbearable! The breakfast was very basic, the worst hotel breakfast I have ever had.”
