It is perfect for walks along the canal but also close to lots of wonderful Derbyshire countryside. Our host Steve was full of helpful information and pointers. Set in woodland a few yards from the canal it is a 3 storey converted tower. The conversion is really well thought out for a comfortable stay. A short walk along the canal gets you to The Family Tree Café where breakfast is delicious and they also serve lunch, cakes and afternoon teas. The location is fantastic with a cascading stream to one side and a canal at the bottom of the garden. The owners generously allowed us to use their attractive garden with bench next to the canal. There are walks alongside the canal through the woods. The owners were very friendly and helpful with suggestions for walks and outings, etc. Inside the property there is everything you need. Although each floor is small, it is well appointed with comfy sofa and bed and a fully fitted kitchen. Yes, the access from the road is steep and winding but our estate car managed it so it's not too bad.
