Room was nice. On top floor and no lift. Plenty of parking. The owner was nice and helpful. Probably needs more help as on his own. Would stay again as nice and clean and within walking distance of centre.

Room out the back overlooking the garden. Dated, cold and a bit shabby etc in the entrance. Rooms are good overall, bit shabby like the iron mark on carpet, not deep cleaned, bit dusty etc. teas/coffee/biscuits nice. We visited Matlock to see the original family farm from and ancestral home of my immigrant ancestors. We hired a taxi with a driver who knew the area well to take us around the countryside. Would highly recommend Fox taxi service.
Matlock Bath is a summer resort town, with a lot of activities geared towards children. Its more sedate in the fall/winter. Bakewell which is nearby is much more bustling year round.
