“We truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return, especially for a longer visit. We stayed in a room with a balcony facing the beach and kitchenette, which was well worth the upgrade. Having a balcony made a big difference—we loved relaxing there each evening and watching the sunset. It was the perfect way to end the day. The only minor downside was the restaurant. “Das Haus ist wunderschön, eine ehemalige Schmiede. Der Frühstücksraum ist auch Restaurant am Abend und wirklich beeindruckend. Das Zimmer war groß und passend zum alten Gemäuer eingerichtet. Leider keine Klimaanlage dafür ein Ventilator. Unser Hund konnte mit zum Frühstück und auch abends ins Restaurant. Das Personal war freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Frühstück war in Ordnung.”

“Absolutely wonderful stay! My fear when I stay in the area is always humidity/musty rooms… but in Ixua there’s no sign of anything less than pristine. It all looks, feels and is clean. “Ermua is a thriving community where we felt really safe when out at night. The hotel is central with lovely rooms and fabulous staff. The hotel bar is welcoming and popular with local people. The bar serves a selection of tapas which are great. We would definitely stay again if in the area.”

“Good location in the centre of Guernica near bars and tourist office. Room was pretty basic but adequate. Good, hot shower. The bottle of water and tea making facility was a nice touch. Biggest issue was the check-in hassle. There is a note on the door to check-in at the bar next door....but the bar was shut. There were several numbers stuck on the bar windows but it wasn't clear which to use and there was no answer initially. Given my phone was nearly flat, it was a big stress I really didn't……

“Such a lovely hotel, breakfast and dinner were amazing! Loved that it was a smaller hotel, very quiet and great views. The staff could not have been more helpful, booking reservations for us and even offering to take us to the bus stop. This was the highlight of Zarautz.”
