"Room was still being prepared when I arrived (late afternoon) due to some sort of event the previous day, so I was assigned another room which was fine. Hotel had a nice appearance and staff at reception desk were helpful, although Hotel restaurant was closed on a Sunday, but hotel had laid on a free finger buffet instead. Area was quiet. Nice rooftop area with almost panoramic views, although all the outside tables had already been reserved. Could have done without the DJ, which conflicted with the sounds coming from the city centre."

"The village was in a lovely, quiet location, which is what we were looking for. When booking in, the receptionist told us that there was going to be a party and music up to 12 midnight. When I explained we had booked for a quiet night, the receptionist wasn’t at all helpful. This should have been mentioned on the time when we booked the room, not when we actually turned up. On the booking site, WiFi was meant to be freely available and fast in the rooms, however we could hardly get any. The problem with this was that we had been travelling by car around Europe for 3 weeks and needed the WiFi to book the next nights stay."

"This is a small bed and breakfast establishment right in the centre of Pavia and they have tried to think of everything for the convenience of their guests. The side road grille gate is a bit of a surprise, but very secure. Once in, on a hot day I was immediately offered a drink. The stairs are steep, but my bag was taken up to and brought down from the room. The room is very pleasant, nowhere near as over the top as the pictures suggest, there are tea and coffee-making facilities, air-conditioning, internet with no sign-in a fabulous view of the cathedral and town square (I heard no sound of bells at night). Breakfast is typical italian but plentiful. It's not too far to walk from the train station and they ordered me a taxi to get to the Certosa (a got a train back)"

My husband especially loved that we could park our car right outside the room in a garage/canopy covered area. The staff in every area were very polite and friendly. "Don't be put off by the external appearance - inside the hotel is well maintained, bright, clean and comfortable. The breakfast offer is limited but adequate and easy and the breakfast rooms a good size. Staff very helpful, and friendly. Well located near the train and bus stations (and with own car parking underneath for those who came by car like me) and a short and pleasant walk from the centre. Would recommend to anyone for a short stay in Pavia. Good value."

"This was genuinely the most incredible stay. The hosts were so incredibly hospitable, the place was absolutely breathtaking, and the whole experience was so serene and lovely! We had a fantastic meal cooked freshly for us with authentic local cuisine, drinks on the terrace overlooking the mountains, and hospitality that is rare to find these days! I can’t recommend this stay enough."
