“Check in was a bit unusual: no one at front desk, but a note from the management with a phone number to call to check in. Call went through, and the hotel keeper texted our room number, the door code, and the wifi password. Room was on the second floor (no elevator that we could see), and was very cold (-8 C outside). We cranked up the heater and still pretty cold after an hour or so, but by the time we returned from dinner several hours later, the room was very warm. We did think that, since……

“The grounds and the winery here at Hessenland are beautiful. We loved being able to walk around and explore the gardens and lovely seating areas. The outdoor pool was a refreshing treat during this heat wave. The food and drink was fabulous and the staff wonderful, friendly, welcoming and helpful. We found the inn itself dated and tired looking. The rooms and sitting areas could use with an update and refresh like the rest of the property has had. On the whole though we enjoyed our stay.”

“Good and quiet location. Foodland, Tim Hortons are less than a 5 minute drive and a bar/restaurant right across the street. If you have an EV, there are no charging stations on site. There is one a short drive away but is not walkable. Plan accordingly.”
