Old Fort is a dry community, but Black Mountain is a short drive away with additional dining and drinking options. We also enjoyed the nature center with our three year old.

Staff was great. Hotels is beautiful. The basement bar was awesome and served food. There is a parking garage behind the hotel that is recommended to use. Loved the little basket of food left at my door for breakfast.

The grounds were quiet with a good view. The cabin was lovely. The staff were very friendly and quick to respond. They are only a text away. Otherwise, it's like you are in a private home.

Plenty of space and storage. Excellent view. Kitchen was adequately supplied for cooking basic meals. Lake Lure wasn't quite back to normal and some roads were still closed after the hurricane last year but this made a great home base to visit surrounding cities like Ashville, Black Mountain and ...
