“A beautiful property with bags of charm. It was very well equipped, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Our hosts had left a lovely welcome basket and texted to make sure we had everything we needed. Well placed for visiting Rutland water and exploring the local area. It didn’t bother us but one thing to consider if you have light sleepers in your party: Inevitably as an old property the upstairs floors creak a bit which some may find disturbing.”

“Thank you for a wonderful stay at Rivernene Cottages. Hosts Stephen and Phil were amazing and could not do enough for all the guests. We stayed in the Yew Tree Cottage, as a family of 4 (2 teenagers) this was perfect! The entire place is immaculately kept. The sweeping garden was a great place to chill out by the bank of the river as well as the delightful heated pool which was used many times during our stay! “No welcome ' pack ' not even a bottle of milk. Light fittings missing. Main bed the worst ever experienced. The central heating did not work, we sat in overcoats and blankets. Heating set at 16deg. in the middle of winter !Hostess indifferent , realised her responsibility, refused to speak to us and told the agency to ask us to leave due to heating problems and her concern with her insurance Gave full refund but our stay to be near our family was ruined due to lack of maintenance. “The actual property was clean an a good size the hot tub was marvellous an the views were good with nobody looking over you and away from the main road Everything was there for cooking an cleaning an good information about the history of the local village just down the road”

“Front door is 5 yards from busy A43. Contacted owner for key code Friday am for Friday stay did not reply till 14.21 Sunday. Builders next door Hammering just after 7 Saturday and Monday. Cover on front bed filthy. Toilet seat not attached correctly. No logs provided for log burner or tools. Welcome pack not as advertised no wine no milk no eggs no crisps small loaf. Outside area no parasols cushions left outside dirty and cigarette burn, and a broken chair. Broken glass in cupboard. Very noisy……
