“To start the trip, the staff at the front desk was lovely which made our initial impression positive. As we entered the villa there were ants on the counter tops and in the bathroom. As our stay progressed, the ant infestation got progressively worse. We finally decided to speak to the receptionists, where they told us it was our fault for not coming earlier to report the problem. A man entered our room without us knowing to clean out the ants. They did not give us any compensation for this.……

“Great location with good amenities and lovely views. Only issue we had is we were given two single beds pushed together instead of a double bed.”

“No staff at all to help with check in. No heat in the rooms and it’s freezing. Half the power was out in the room. No maintenance personnel to deal with power being out. Online checking took way longer than it should because their system kept failing. Pretty disappointing. This place has the potential to be really good if it was managed properly. Disappointed. ”

“Check-in easy, but online - no reception, but nice communication through WhatsApp Kitchen dark and not cosy. Shared living room disgusting. Looked like the floor had not been cleaned for 3 years. Bathroom had a lot of black mold which is unhealthy. Room had only blue-ish ceiling lighting, that looked like something from a public bathroom for avoiding junkies. Temperature inside, around 10 degrees Celsius during December. Heating elements were sparse and insufficient.”

“Un petit hotel au calme sur les hauteurs de Guïmar, dans une ancienne ferme. La vue sur l'ocean et l'ile de la Grande Canarie au loin etait juste fantastique. Un seul bemol, les rues sont etroites, il est mieux d'avoir un petit vehicule. Les proprietaires cubains font aussi restaurant. Ils etaient en vacances pendant notre sejour et le restaurant etait fermé mais la carte semblait allechante. “Viaje por negocio a Candelaria un par de días y me aloje en este hotel. Las 4 estrellas que dice tener me dieron confianza antes de llegar pero el fiasco fue tremendo cuando al llegar lo que encontré fue un hotel anclado en el pasado, viejo, sucio y masificado. “A week at Marriott Ténérife. We usually stay at Hilton properties, but chose this hotel due to the lack of a Hilton in the area. Unfortunately, we could really notice the difference. In terms of the property itself, cleanliness, rooms, and breakfast style, there isn’t much difference. However, where this hotel falls short is in the service—particularly at reception. We are very down-to-earth people, but being pointed at and told, in effect, to “get it yourself” does not feel like good……
