Top Shakespeare Cliff Hotel Reviews
Dover Town Rooms
10/10 Excellent
"Great little room for a quick stay for 2. There were no issues with the shared bathroom. Very simple stay with a lovely view of Dover Castle. However, there wasn't a proper pen for the check-in/check-out log. Other than that, it was a very easy stay. I'd definitely come back."
St Martin's Guest House
10/10 Excellent
"We had a charming, cosy room, which really felt like a home away from home. The castle and the town centre were both whitin easy reach. John, our host, the concierge, was extremely helpful, kind and made us feel truly welcome."
Hubert House Guesthouse
10/10 Excellent
"Staff was super helpful and accommodating!"
Churchill Guest House
8/10 Good
"Nicely furnished (Edwardian-style) historic building in relatively quiet part of Dover, conveniently close (15 mins walk) to ferry terminal. Greeted by friendly owner on arrival. Room (I stayed in Patricia) large and clean, with sitting area and tea/coffee. Cooked breakfast no longer an option, but self-service continental-style breakfast provided in fridge including wide variety of fresh fruit, croissants etc: ideal for early morning start. Self-catering possible in small communal kitchen, but pub 2 mins walk away was pleasant and good for dinner. Overall would return, and would recommend to others."
West Stret Retreat. Cozy 2 bedroom house near shops and train station.
8/10 Good
"Lots of space for adult and two teenagers. It was great to have a kitchen and washer. We walked to Dover Castle from here, the walk to the train was a lot of stairs. It wasn’t easy with luggage. We missed our ferry so missed our first night stay but our host brought us groceries which was amazing. I recommend this place."
Alma House
8/10 Good
"The narrow and steep stairs do not give a good impression but the rooms are clean and adequate. Helpful staff and a kitchen area make it a good base. Parking is on a one way street and limited between 09.30 & 16.30 but that wss not a problem for me. Convenience store in garage on opposite side of road."
Castle Guest House
10/10 Excellent
"Vaughan and Sharon are wonderful hosts. They made us feel like valued guests in their B&B (Guesthouse). Our room was the attic twin (top small windows in the picture), so lots of steps in this historic building, with a nice hot shower and views of downtown. The location is great too, right downhill from the Dover Castle and very convenient to shopping and downtown Dover. The included breakfast was fresh and delicious, with a nice option for a vegetarian full English including veggie sausage."
Heathwood BnB
10/10 Excellent
"Margaret was incredibly helpful in providing suggestions on how to navigate the city and provided excellent suggestions for restaurants. The morning breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Our room was very spacious, the couch was very comfortable and the bed was fantastic. After a full day of walking around Dover, this was a very special retreat. The views are just amazing. We will plan a trip to spend more time with Margaret."
Premier Inn Dover - A20
10/10 Excellent
"Great location, plenty of parking. Dani was very friendly and helpful during check in. She was able to secure us a 1st floor room upon arrival. Hotels.com states that Premier inn locations have elevators and are handicap accessible. That is 100% not the case, they do not have elevators, and are not handicap accessible. It is the first hotel I have ever stayed at that has an hdmi output in wall so you can connect a laptop or roku device with ease. In the states they try to make that process impossible with hotel remotes that will not change the source. "
