The entire lower unit of this duplex is located on the Wolf river channel in downtown Shawano, with Huckleberry harbor next door is available for lodging with a 2 night minimum booking. Home is located directly across the street from the Shawano County Sheriff's Department. The upstairs unit is currently being remodeled. Inside garage parking for one car and one car driveway parking available on right side of driveway. Access to Shawano Lake via channel/river by boat is available. Back yard available for fire pit and grilling out. Internet available, there is YouTube TV with local channels available and smart VCR available so you can watch your own Netflix or other accounts. There are two twin beds in rear private bedroom with bathroom, full kitchen, dining room, sitting room with electric fireplace, sleeper sofa in common fireplace family room, and queen bed in front bedroom. Also another bathroom with stand up shower. All bedding and towels provided as are dishes and utensils. No automatic dishwasher is available. Children are not allowed in hallway/Stairway area in the entry hall of house unless entering and exiting with adult supervision. Clothes washer and dryer are available on site in basement. Dirty and uncomfortable
We were all uncomfortable and agitated by the surroundings in this dirty dusty home that was infested with bugs. From busted blinds to no window covering in one of the bedrooms, to no outlet in one of the bathrooms to dirty tile in main bath along with bugs crawling in the bath room area and many bugs crawling on kitchen counter and sink. We pulled out the coffee maker both days and a large bug came running out from underneath. Because of no window covering in one of the bedrooms we put pillow and had to use masking tape to hold them up. In the master bedroom because of busted blinds we had to put in blankets and tape them up also for privacy. On the positive side we contacted the owner about no batteries in the remote for tv and he did respond quickly. The location was excellent but this unit needs a thorough cleaning and an exterminator.

Nice location to downtown shawano
We were happy to be able to walk to everything we needed in Shawano including the stubborn brothers brewery. The place was spacious and it was really nice to have two bathrooms. Host was very responsive.

Comfortable, clean and quirky
Communication was great and it was clean. A few quirks like you would expect with a converted duplex. Best thing was the back view! Location to town was amazing, however, only one parking spot added some slight difficulty since had three cars coming. All in all very satisfied!

Perfect location
Was in town for a retirement party and also enjoyed Twig's and Stubborn Brothers. Local shops in walking distance. Weather and plans didn't accommodate, but the fire pit and available firewood would have been perfect for enjoying the evenings along the channel.

Unit could use some drapes in front bedroom to keep out the sunrise. Bathrooms need more outlets and mirrors. Largest bedroom doesn’t have a mirror.

Nice for a quiet weekend and pets
We were very pleased with our stay. Very spacious rooms, quiet location in the evening. The proximity to everything was great! The view is pretty overlooking the river. Basic kitchen as was picutured in the information about the property. If we ever visit the area again we would be happy to stay here. Pet friendly is a real plus.

Old house (not a downfall) with issues (downfalls)
Baron old house with some "updating" but over-all first impression was "Are you kidding me?" Understanding old houses are not modernized by definition of old, most items were tolerable. Very random availability of items of use in kitchen & bathrooms for multiple guests. Laundry has very good- working machines, however, we visited during a rainy weekend which exacerbated the fact that the basement where laundry is located has water leakage. The stairs going into basement are hazardous in that individual steps are not level or snag-free due to aluminum step guards and boards rough or broken. Stairs led directly to area puddled from incoming rain leakage. The renting and checking in were easily done. Directions for stay were sent prior to arrival and gave instructions on dos and don'ts plus checkout requirements such as turning thermostat to initial temperature setting and stripping your own sheets off beds and placing in kitchen (I guess to limit what you receive for the cost extra charges for cleaning, etc.

Spacious/ Amazing back patio
Tom was amazing & answered all of our questions, his place is definitely spacious, the bottom unit is definitely large enough for several people, it was perfect for what we needed, somewhere to sleep, eat & shower as we were traveling from Minnesota to Wisconsin. It’s across the street from the sheriffs which in my opinion was a good thing being from out of town. The beds were definitely comfortable!!! I think the only negative is the comfort of livingroom furniture. Perhaps that can be updated in the future I will definitely stay here again!!! 45 min from Lambeau field!!

Great location
The house was very spacious. We were in town for a charity golf outing and this place worked out great. We really enjoyed having enough space for our group. The fire pit out back with views of the River were fantastic. We will be looking to stay here again next year.

Relaxing week on the water.
Enjoyed kayaking! Close to everything. Peaceful, private back yard right on the channel. 4 park loops for walking. State trail access just a few blocks away. We recommend a hike in Hayman Falls Cty Park along the river. Beautiful area!! Comfortable accommodations!!

Perfect size for our small family
We were looking for a place to lay our head as we visited with family for the holiday This worked great as our parents live in town. Only issue was snow removal. Thankfully there was a small child size shovel in the entryway. It snowed on Sunday and we had to shovel the path upon check in Monday morning. It snowed again on Tuesday & again we shoveled the path. The snow removal company came Thursday morning.

Great Stay
Even though the duplex is on a well traveled street the unit is very quiet inside. Great view from the back, lots of space for everyone, and great location for walking and exploring the Shawano downtown.
