The Royal Yacht

The Royal Yacht

8/10 Good
"This hotel is in a great location near to restaurants, bars and shops and 2-3 minutes to the bus station. It has several bars which were always busy. Breakfast was good and staff were helpful and friendly but served in a rather dated restaurant. The room we had are large with a good size balcony, but there should definitely have superking beds in the gold deluxe rooms. A bit of modernisation is needed thoughout especially in the bathroom which would benefit from a larger walk in shower rather than the dated bath with an odd tap arrangement. The spa area is lovely with a great pool and gym. Massage was great. Overall we would stay again due to the good location."

"I thought the hotel was perfectly adequate, breakfast was good, but could do with a few more healthy options like fresh fruit , good bread etc. The bed was comfy, but it all was a bit tired and could do with a refurb sometime soon."

Almorah hotel

Almorah hotel

10/10 Excellent
"This is a great, family-run hotel on the outskirts of St Helier. Rooms are a good size, nicely decorated and furnished, spotless. The owners are delightful, seeming to do much of the work themselves but always with time to talk or help. Breakfasts are excellent, varied and generous. It's an easy walk into town with its good choice of quality restaurants. We were very pleased to have chosen the Almorah!"

The Uplands Serviced Apartments

The Uplands Serviced Apartments

10/10 Excellent
"Apartments are uphill (quite steep via some routes on foot) from the centre of St Helier, but for the averagely fit and mobile only 15 to 20 minutes walk. Very handy though for the 19, 5 and 5A Liberty Buses into town - just keep in mind that they are much less frequent at weekends and after 7pm. Also a Morrisons Local just a couple of minutes walk away. Apartment we were in had a super king size and single bed in upstairs bedroom - lots of storage space and cupboards up here (one on the landing). Bathroom has full-length but narrow-ish bath with shower over, a wash basin and WC. The shower has quite low water pressure so those used to power showers will be disappointed, and with the narrow bath and short shower screen you can’t do a full-on, elbows out soak, lather and rinse off - the bathroom floor would get very wet! Beds and other furniture comfortable and rooms nicely kitted out with main essentials. Also a laundry room on site - a charge for washing tabs and dryer tokens which are ordered through Morgan Hotels. Rooms clean, staff we saw on and off all very friendly and polite (and ready to help, asking if you needed anything). Free parking available on site but we’d no car as we realised at time of booking that you can get to most places by Liberty Bus. Kitchen had the essentials you need for self catering for up to 5 folk. Place suited the two of us perfectly."
