Melting snow from the Rocky Mountains feeds the tributaries, streams and creeks that flow into the very large Okanagan Lake. This 84-mile-long (135-kilometer) body of water is up to 4 miles (6 kilometers) wide. It spans the distance from the cities of Vernon to the north and Penticton to the south.
