Lovely house

Winter family hiking weekend

Six of us (plus pups) enjoyed a chilly but fabulous February weekend hiking at Hanging Rock State Park and sharing good company at the house. Great home in a beautiful setting! We hope to return for a repeat in warmer weather!

Great rental!

This is our 3rd year staying at the lucky house. It never disappoints. The views are amazing of cooks wall and the property is beatuiful inside and out. It is well maintained and not far from both pilot mountain and hanging rock state parks. Im aure well stay there again.

Fantastic get away

Lovely clean and well equipped property, in a great location, with fantastic views. Emily was a great host, really responsive and helpful. The gift basket left for us on arrival was a lovely touch. We enjoyed the fire pit, plenty of smores were made!

Lovely Location and Home

The setting of this lovely home is amazing with a view that takes you away and the home is just as described with much attention to detail. It felt even larger than expected with everything you need. We came for hiking and found the location great for Hanging Rock and Pilot Mountain. The host was so helpful and communicative making the stay just as we hoped for! We hope to come back.

Peaceful Farmhouse

This is a lovely farmhouse and a peaceful country get-away! The house was spotless, renovated and decorated like a Gainses' Fixer-Upper, well equipped and very cozy. Two favorite things were the backyard fire pit and the coffee bar. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful location

We traveled to the area for a family wedding. The home was in the perfect location. The property was spotless and so well maintained with all of the conveniences of home If there was anything we needed I knew we could contact Emily. We enjoyed sitting outside on the patio enjoying the views and peacefulness of the setting. It was the perfect place to unwind from the festivities and enjoy our time together. The area offered short drives to hiking that we could all enjoy. I highly recommend a stay here if visiting!

Beautiful home and location

This house was perfect for our stay. Our daughter got married at Moore’s Springs Manor and it was only 10 minutes from the venue. The house is so beautiful and the landscaping is exceptional. Emily’s hospitality was wonderful and communication was great too. If we are in the area, we will stay there again. Highly recommended!

Best place ever!

As soon as you walk into this beautiful house, you feel welcome! The house was very clean, and full of comfy furniture. The kitchen had all the amenities and lots of extras! We like to cook, and this kitchen had everything we needed. The back yard is a football field. Perfect for our 2 Corgis to zoom around! The patio furniture and firepit allowed us to look at the fall leaves and enjoy the surrounding nature. We will absolutely return to this lovely location!

Beautiful stay in the country!

We had a great stay, the house is beautiful & we instantly felt welcomed & at home. The welcome basket & sweet note was such a thoughtful touch. The property is stunning, the views were just lovely & the old homestead outback was nice to see. The location was quiet, private, country feeling but very well lit which was great at night & walking the property was very enjoyable. The house was very easy to find, check in was a breeze & Emily was a fantastic host & responsive. We’ve actually already recommended this beautiful house to other family members who will be visiting soon. Thank you again!

What a wonderful place!

My family and I absolutely love the area around Hanging Rock, but we had never stayed on this side of the park. We stumbled across this property when another nearby reservation had to be cancelled by the owner. How lucky for us! The home itself it beautiful, just the right size, provides an awesome view of Cook's Wall, and has a delightful history behind it. Despite being sick during our visit, my wife and I had a wonderful time and hope to go back soon. Overall, just a fantastic place for a getway. Highly recommended.

Beautiful location, amazing property

We have stayed at many vrbos (and similar!) over the years and this was hands down the nicest property and home we've ever stayed in. Yes, the photos in the listing are great, but once you park and cross the threshold into the farmhouse, you realize you are staying somewhere special. The home was perfect for our family of 5 adults and 2 doggos. We prepared meals in the well-stocked kitchen and enjoyed using the gas grill and fire pit. The location, of course, is super convenient to Hanging Rock and Pilot Mtn State Parks. This was our first time in the Sauratown Mountain area and it's a nice change from the more commercialized towns of Asheville, Boone, etc. The host was amazing and even offered us a late checkout, which we took full advantage of. The farmhouse makes you want to linger and enjoy each other's company and surroundings. We had a peaceful, memorable and fun long weekend and would love to return!

Girls winery weekend.

Property is beautiful as listed The house itself is super cute. Looks like something out of HGTV. We truly enjoyed backyard campfire in the evenings after going to wineries. Weather was perfect for it. We brought extra chairs. ( there where 5 of us). We grilled out every night There is a Food lion about 10–15 min away. With covid restrictions and being in a rural area we cooked most of our meals. Owners where very helpful. We ran out of firewood and they brought us more. The only suggestion I would provide is the twin mattresses in the one bedroom were very uncomfortable. It would be perfectly fine for children. The adults though thought they were uncomfortable. Certainly not a deal breaker. Would definitely stay again. Already hoping to come back in fall.

Perfect stay!

Everything about our stay was fantastic. The property was super clean (most important to me when renting!) We enjoyed the view, roasting marshmallows & playing Yardzee. We also took in some hiking and spent one afternoon swimming at the lake. What a perfect pit stop for my family on our way to the beach.
