"Perfect lake side hotel in Hakone. The oversized room had more than enough space for three of us plus our luggage. The staff was very warm and friendly. We chose not to have dinner at the hotel but we did visit the French restaurant for breakfast and it was wonderful. The food was delicious and the staff was very attentive. The onsen was also enjoyed. Great property and I would definitely stay again."

"We had a fun stay at a very tiny Inn. But everything was made fun and enjoyable by the owner Mac. His advice, directions and discussion solve the problem that I had not done too much planning before getting there."

"The best part of our trip was staying here with our three young children. We stayed on the top floor. We enjoyed the treats and drinks in the fridge. The view, private onsen, foot bath, and sauna is an experience well worth every penny. Our family loves community and connection… you cant do that with Rakuten because they are purely transactional. However, you can find the connection with kind people in the community. Some parts of the place were dusty because I notice when I pay for a place. The beds were VERY comfortable and we had the best sleep in Japan at this hotel than any other. The accessible areas to explore by just walking out your door is perfection. We love this place so much and hope to return for a longer stay in the near future. "

"The staff were exceptional! Professional and had paid attention to detail. Onsen was such an experience!! Very clean facilities, amenities were amazing, well kept hotel despite its history. Definitely avail for the free shuttle bus from Odawara station in Hakone to your hotel and back but make sure you do a reservation for this especially if you are traveling with luggage. Message Ryuguden hotel through Expedia for reservations. If you travel Light or miss the shuttle bus, there is local transportation service that will stop near the hotel. "

"Wonderfully modern and clean home. The best part was the restaurant next door and the private Onsen soaring tub. They provide a number toiletries as a convenience if you didn’t bring any. The mini splits do take time to warm up the home, but once they do it is very comfortable. "
