This resort is shabby for their advertised five-star rating. The food is mediocre, the portion sizes are very small, and you're constantly harassed by asinine resort rules that make no sense. The resort and rooms are run down. The toilets are cheap, the bathrooms need caulking, the baseboards are broken and cracked, the finish on the doors is old and worn out. The air conditioning is extremely weak in the common areas. There aren't enough fans outside. You can't really get breakfast after 10:00 a.m., and if you do you're expected to wear a shirt with sleeves even though you're in the tropics trying to have breakfast. The staff is generally not well trained in hospitality. If you get one of the preferred rooms, you get access to a bar with higher end liquor, which sounds great but it's really annoying when you realize that instead of just having a wristband to indicate that you're allowed to drink the good stuff, you have to hike up the hill and go back to your little secluded bar to replenish your drinks. So unnecessary. They have a shuttle service to take you up and down the hills and get around the resort, but the shuttle take so long that you regret not just walking by yourself. On two occasions I called the shuttle and it simply never showed up.

A great hotel to finish our Costa Rica trip! The breakfast was by far the best we had during our entire stay in Costa Rica — great quality, plenty of choice, and everything was delicious. The pool is beautiful and very relaxing, and the beach is just a short walk away. The restaurant also deserves a mention for its excellent presentation — the dishes looked fantastic. The flavors were good overall, although they could perhaps be improved slightly. The staff were very attentive, friendly, and always ready to help, which made the stay even more enjoyable. The rooms were clean, comfortable and nicely decorated, although we found them a little small compared with the size of the bathroom, which was very spacious. Gym room could be improve but you have 30' class included Overall, a lovely place to stay in Tamarindo, with a special mention for the exceptional breakfast!

Great experience overall! Beautiful place, friendly service, and a relaxing stay. I recommend planning activities and reservations ahead of time to make the most of your trip!

This was a favorite property!!! Oceanfront, gorgeous pool and gardens around the property. I love their commitment to the environment and welcome the natural wildlife within the property. The staff is so friendly, always ensuring you are doing well and enjoying your time. The food at the restaurant is delicious, and you can enjoy your meal beachside if you wish. The bungalows are spacious with a beautiful outdoor shower. The beach is wonderful to swim, walk and surf. Thank you to all the staff we met and helped make our stay so memorable!

Property supposed to be super bt maintained badly. Most of the rides for kids were not functional. They have some wonderful staff and pools. There was no wifi in the rooms by the common area has. That was actually good as we could stay away from our phones little bit. the way the rooms were kept and build was nice. Food was okay bt repetitive so after few times we will tired. Overall it’s an average

Food is the best. For the room, no body wash and shampoo, no drinking water or coffee replacement.
