The Riu Guanacaste was a great resort for a family vacation. Overall, the property was well nice and the staff very friendly. Location is mixed since it was right on the beach and Eco Diamante, but a bit far to anything else. The restaurants have great atmosphere and during our time, we did not have to wait long to be seated. Only minor issue were the elevators. They seem due for an upgrade.

All staff were amazing. The facility is a bit dated. The bathtub was a bit high and although it had safety rails it can be a hazard getting in and out. Snack options after dining closes are limited and cold sandwiches. If you arrive after 930-10pm be sure to eat something.

Firstly, the cleanliness of our room was far below acceptable standards. Upon arrival, we discovered roaches and other pests in the room. Additionally, the shower curtains were ripped off and hanging, the blankets and sheets were stained, and the room was extremely dusty. These issues not only made our stay uncomfortable but also raised significant health concerns.

Propert needs updating, rooms are outdated, bedsheets are not comfortable, flooring are also dingy, but dtaff are great, always lots of great activity indoors and outside by the pool. Drinks are also great, potent and tasty

Rooms are old and outdated. Showers had poor water pressure. The toilet water always smelled of raw sewage. The beds were hard as a rock. Bartenders should be more attentive to people who are completely inebriated and should not be serving more alcohol to them. Food was was horrible. The pro was at least the beach had nice scenery. Also the roads entering the resort need to be updated.

The property hasn’t had revocation in years. The rooms had mold smell and moths. There were lizards inside the room. It’s unsafe for families with kids. Only the cleaning and restaurant staff were kind. The people at the reception are awful and arrogant. Please avoid!

The staff at Riu Guanacaste is an all star team. From checking to checking out was an amazing. The dining staff Roger, Milton and another great fellow made every meal enjoyable with an extra smell and genuine care. Thank you Riu, my birthday was amazing and the staff and crew and Riu Guanacaste was wonderful. Hope to visit soon.

The rooms was pretty old no major upgrades to the property. The food was decent, but not all that great in the bar area. The sandwiches, taste, pretty old, and I seen a couple roaches around the food as well. This was probably the worst resort i ever been to on vacation.

The restroom smelled really bad. They don’t put bottles of water daily even when I ask them because I needed to take medication. I had to my medication with soda. The pool smelled like vomit.

I stayed here on a family vacation of 13 people. Ages from 6- 68. Check in was fast and pleasant. Tbe woman who checked us in was kind and wanted to help us. She smiled tbe whole time. She accommodated making our rooms close to each other as well as making sure there were extra beds, fir no cost and we did not request. It was perfect! We did have a few maintenance issues with our room, such as, the toilet was broken and the shower broke twice during our stay. They came quickly and fixed the issues. We had difficulty with our keys as well, as they use standard keys and thry stick in the locks. Other than that, I was happy with the room and the balcony. I watched monkeys in the trees outside my balcony each morning and that was excellent! The food was good. We tried all the restaurants a d liked tbe Tucan and the Italian restaurant the best. The bartenders at all the bars were great! The entertainment was fun. We also enjoyed the Sport Bar where we played Pong Pong and pool. The beach was clean. There are a lot of vendors but they were not rude or pushy in any way. It was great for the price and I would definitely go back!

So, loved the tropical feel. Staff was amazing overall. Excellent job there. Rooms are neat and clean. Pool area was very nice with good day activities. Location is perfect. Food was pretty good The opportunites are: No real nightlife or dance club, arcade (aside from a poorly done sports bar. No lights for the walkway next to the Eco park Diamonte. Needs additional pool lights (again, very dark). Too many "buffet" style restaurants. Room refrigerators were never stocked with more than one bottle of soda or beer over a 4 day period.
