“The room is very small, with only a toilet. The kitchen has plastic dishes, no proper knives, and no kettle to boil water. Even the most budget hotels usually provide a kettle, so it was disappointing to have to heat water in the microwave. There were about 20 pillows in the room, which felt unnecessary — four would have been more than enough. “This unit is a basement of an house in a residential area of a suburb of Salt Lake City that was converted to a studio. It has nice funiture and is very clean. Only issues were: no soap or shampoo in the bathroom (a first for us staying at a short term rental) and the host did not offer to provide us some when we inquired about it; the place smelled like pot; and the host took several hours to respond to our inquiry about the soap, whereas we are used to hearing back within the hour at other……

“The location makes for easy travel around downtown SLC. The place was very clean, and check in and out were very easy. The only reason it's not 5 stars is the noise. There is something mechanical in the basement that makes noise every few minutes that is loudest in the back bedroom and you can feel the vibration in the bed, so it makes it hard to sleep. And the front bedroom is by a main road, so it can also be noisy.”
