“Returned 40 years later from our 1st stay, when it was in its original ocean front location, to this 2025 stay. Classic, historic, dedicated beach access, lovely grounds, lush landscaping and gardens, and a great vibe. Rocking chairs and porch swings harken back to the good ‘ol days. Wonderful breakfasts by Chef Georgia, with eclectic culinary creations. Just love this ‘old woodie’ hotel in the original classic OBX architectural style.”

“Most of all, we loved the hospitality of the owners. They were very gracious and full of local history and information. They were very good at balancing when they needed to be available and when we needed privacy. They are a very lovely couple, and we would definitely stay at Barclay on our next visit to Virginia Beach.”

“We loved the Inn. We were greeted by Hillary who checked us in, showed us our room and brought us some prosecco! The room was huge, and the bathroom was very nice The bed was extremely comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again.”

“I really enjoyed our stay here. We were the only guests that night. The only thing I didn't like was the Deckside room has a nice jetted tub which makes for a really bad shower. Water runs around the edge of the tub and onto the floor. I didn't like mopping the floor. The room is beautiful and the house is charming. The breakfast was fine and the proximity to the beach and the pier was wonderful. I would stay again.”
