It was a last-minute booking, and I did not have many options or high expectations, but I was hoping for a decent stay. Unfortunately, that was not the case.
I realize that I could not expect extraordinary service or conditions from a 2.5-star hotel, but I think even 2.5 stars is overrated. When you look for a hotel, the basic expectation is that the rating, the price, and the actual experience will at least somewhat match. In this case, I think the hotel is both overpriced and overrated.
The room and bathroom were unclean, with an unpleasant smell of smoke, dirt, or both. The reception staff refused my request to change rooms. There were water stains on the ceiling and damaged or ripped-out wooden interior elements.
I also saw hotel staff tossing dirty laundry from the second floor down to the first, where it landed right next to me. That was particularly unpleasant and unprofessional.
I typically don't eat breakfast, but I checked it out just in case, and the selection was very poor.
Overall, I understand that this is a budget hotel and adjusted my expectations accordingly. But even with modest expectations, the cleanliness, condition, and service did not justify either the rating or the price.
