"This is such a lovely hotel. Really welcoming staff, comfortable, quiet room and close to shops and eating places in Chard. The breakfast was so good, cooked to order, really can't fault anything. "
"Comfortable room, easily accessed with parking very close. Helpful and friendly staff. Very generous breakfast options (and a diverse menu for dinner too). I'd happily stay again when in Somerset."
"Room was very nice and staff friendly and helpful. Food service was good, there was a few items not available from the menu but we were a the last end on service. Food we had was OK , traditional gastro food. I would stay here again. "

"The Hornsbury Mill is a very charming hotel, set in beautiful grounds with a little lake. The staff are very friendly and attentive and the bed comfortable. I had the full English (vegan) breakfast and it was very tasty. The one complaint I had was that when the very charming old mill wheel is on and turning (which they switch off at 8pm), the noise made a constant thud in my room and bothered me a little. I assume it won’t be too much of a bother though to most people, who would be in bed well after 8pm, but on this particular occasion I was exhausted and needed to go to bed very early and get a good night’s rest. The other noise that bothered me was that my room # 6 was at the back of the hotel where the dumpsters are and where the staff seemed to hang out for a little while after their shift, which again disrupted my sleep. However, I did speak to someone (I assume the owner?) who was very apologetic and said he would address this. Overall I was very happy with the hotel and would recommend it."

"We stayed at the barn for a 3 night stopover on the way to Cornwall Heather and Angus are very welcoming as are their 2 lovely dogs Pip and MabelThe hamlet of Chaffcombe is very pretty and we had a peaceful and relaxing time sitting in the wonderful private garden belonging to the property. We felt quite remote, which we like, but within easy reach of Sidmouth and Ford Abbey gardens which we visited Burrow Hill gardens is also nearby and worth a visit -amazing views"
