![The park's interpretive center has clean lines, an elegant design, and, get this: air conditioning, all the cold water you may need to refill your supplies, and the cleanest public restrooms in the galaxy [I don't know about that last part, but it is hard to imagine them any cleaner].
The staff is very helpful if you arrive without a clue about the trail system or the park's topography in general. Which probably applies to almost everyone who walks in the door.
They'll hand you maps for the various areas encompassed by the park, highlight them for you, tell you where the wildlife is, what rock formations you might find, elevation gains, mileage... well, you name it.
Since the center is, well, pretty much at the center of the park, you can use it as a pivot area to loop through along the various trails. That way, you can pick up more water, take a bathroom break, sit in the shade and grab a power bar (which you will have to bring yourself), and rest up for the next leg of your journey.
Very convenient, very well-designed, very well-staffed. For those who hike as much as we do, that is worth its weight in gold.](https://images.trvl-media.com/place/7819/30e3d57f-3f87-4c81-9b77-6457b70a5179.jpg?impolicy=fcrop&w=1200&h=500&q=medium)
