“The “Cozy one bedroom townhome” at Fond du Lac was not as it appeared on the listing. It was tiny. The bathroom was dirty, with a variety of black hair on the floor, indicating it had not been cleaned. It was disgusting. The bed was placed so that the air conditioner had to blast all night on one person’s head. We had to strip our own bed and there were stains on the mattress pad, further contributing to the impression of uncleanliness. When I complained to the owner, he did not even……

“My husband and I just had the absolute best stay at this amazing little cottage on the Fond du Lac River! If you are looking for a perfect getaway just down the river from Lake Winnebago, this is absolutely the place to book.The cottage itself is incredibly cute, beautifully decorated, and was spotless when we arrived. The host has thought of everything to make it feel like a home away from home. We spent our days making full use of the kayaks (provided by host at no charge) and fishing right……

“Excellent stay! We couldn’t be happier with our time at this cottage. We enjoyed using their four complimentary kayaks (they had life jackets and paddles for us), had a fire at night (host supplied free chopped firewood), grilled out burgers on the grill, and rented a pontoon boat and wave runner (Lake Winnebago Boat & WaveRunner Rentals is next door. The host (Brad) who owns this cottage also owns the boat rental place next door). We even did some fishing (there is a bait shop also next door)……

“The pictures are extremely misleading. The place is very dingy. There’s a bedroom downstairs that’s mostly fine, but the sleeping arrangements for the other eight upstairs are a very tight attic without separate rooms. There’s one bathroom and the water pressure is subpar. The outside of the building is pretty rundown. Everything worked. And communication was good. Great parking behind the unit. The AC worked fine.”

“Home was perfect for our family 4th of July weekend! Loved that it was pet friendly and there was ample yard and deck space for all! Fire pit was amazing (loved that there was plenty of firewood) and we had two fun Bon Fire/Smores nights! Kitchen was huge and perfect for making all meals and well stocked with what we needed and nice appliances! Used the grill for our 4th cookout and that was great too! Home was adorable and full of charm! Beds were super comfy!!”

“We had a great time at this property. The house was clean, spacious, well organized and the lake was beautiful. I am a new wheelchair user and this was my first vacation in two years so I was initially disappointed that there was a step down from the house to the large deck. My brother-in-law ended up driving back home to pick up a portable ramp that I use when I visit his house. That worked really well so if you are a wheelchair use be advised to bring or rent a ramp ahead of time if you want……
