I liked the there was a restaurant right in the lobby

We just spent two nights at the Admiral in Mobile and had a fabulous stay. The location can’t be beat: easy in and out and yet it is in a safe and quiet part of the historic district by downtown, within easy walking distance of tons of restaurants, bars, and stores that are all part of the hip renewal going on in central Mobile. The main areas of the hotel are decorated in better taste than the rooms - someone decided on a purple and yellow gold color theme that is pretty eh. But all of it is clean, comfortable, and well appointed. Our double double was very large in its square footage. There is a good 3-6 pm Happy Hour in their Living Room each day. But my favorite part: their on-site restaurant Le Moyne’s Chophouse is easily the best restaurant in Mobile. It is so excellent that we ate there both nights! Top notch high end steaks including wagyu and dry aged offerings, lovely seafood, cooked in skillful and often creative ways with fun presentation. And if you want to be fancy but not crazy fancy, their $26 gourmet burger on a freshly made brioche bun with melted Gruyère, seared food gras, and bordelaise sauce is to die for. And their wine list is very well balanced with variety of reliable but also not cliched offerings at an appropriate price point. I will be happy to stay here again! Oh, and bonus: the Admiral is also super dog friendly, with a gift bag of welcoming treats including a postcard map of dog friendly bars, restaurants, and walks in the immediate area.

There was an awful musty moldy smell on the 4th floor and in my room. I had driven 12 hours as was too tired to complain.
