"We loved our time at Reeds Bay Hotel. We got an ocean view which helped to keep it comfortable at night considering there is no air conditioning, as most in Hawaii do not have or use air conditioning. We slept well and the staff were all very warm and welcoming. Banyan Drive is beautiful and places you close to all things you would want to do and see in Hilo."

"I stayed at the Plumeria Inn for 4 nights. The unit is like a studio apartment. It is well outfitted with just about everything you need. I cooked all of my meals here. It was very clean and the interior is almost completely new. I was on my own this trip and felt very safe. My unit had a balcony with a hammock which was wonderful. The air conditioning unit worked great and was silent - so great. The proximity to the water and beautiful side road to walk and run on is great. It was an incredible value and I would absolutely stay here again. Ear plugs were helpful for sleep as there is some noise from the road - not a deal breaker at all. The manager is very responsive."

"We didn't get a chance to try the hot tub but the grounds are beautiful and all staff at lodge and restaurant were kind and helpful. Food was delicious and proximity to Kilauea volcano sights was super convenient. Hope to come back again soon!"

"Was an absolutely beautiful place to stay. The house itself is nestled between the beautiful greenery, with plenty of fruit trees and vegetation. Inside the house, it feels like a fairy garden. Very well equipped kitchen with a lot of passion fruit for us to enjoy! The host is absolutely kind and gave a lot of suggestions on when to go to the national park. Totally recommend this treasure trove of a place to stay and enjoy! Kids had a blast! Thank you very much for hosting us!"

"Private secluded property; rustic but had all we needed. The bed was so comfortable, had two nights of great rest. Short drive to the park entrance and several options for dining. Stop at the general store in Volcano Village for sandwiches for your day in the park-easily one of the tastiest sandwiches we’ve ever had. Great stay, will be back!"
