"This was a great hotel for a low key traveler since they had everything you needed but a little more basic setting. All staff were friendly, room was clean, the beds were comfortable, the continental breakfast stayed well stocked even within the last 10 minutes of it closing, it was very quiet (we saw various families but never heard them), and the price was reasonable. They have a pool but we didn’t use it. It was located near various restaurants and stores and within 10 minutes of downtown, the beach, and museums in the area. We will definitely consider staying again if we are in the area. "

"Wonderful property for a large group. I felt like it didn’t matter what the weather was, we were covered for entertainment. It was beautiful for our stay, so we were in the water and on the pontoon!A couple of things that we had to go to the store for was dish soap and dish washer detergent and toilet paper. I thought the entire home had air conditioning, but it was only the common area. The bedrooms were warm at night. Those couple of things are not criticism, only making aware.Thanks for a fabulous stay!"

"The house was super clean, comfortable and well maintained. The owners obviously put a lot of thought into making everything easy, comfy and homey for their guests. The gated porch was a wonderful place to sit outside and enjoy nature with our dogs. We saw a bald eagle, deer with fawns, and lots more wildlife. It was an easy walk to the serene river where they have provided a bench swing; a perfect place to sip coffee and watch the river while you relax in a beautiful wooded surrounding. They provided 2 kayaks and the lake is just a short paddle away down the river. It was private and quiet and located in a beautiful part of the Country where a short drive can take you to other interesting sights and towns. We would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a peaceful getaway and we hope to return for an even longer stay someday."

"We were landing the fish, the first 2 days we were there. The weather was up and down for us. Still had a fantastic time. Went and checked out the cracks in the earth, that was a site to see. Overall was an amazing trip. We will look to book again in the future."

"From the moment we arrived, the cabin was welcoming - clean, organized, all the items we needed for cooking and serving, feel at home decor. A great set up outside, as well. The location is a nice short drive into Alpena and the surrounding area. A beautiful view across the lake, including a wonderful view of the sunrise. And nicely quiet. We highly recommend this rental. Great communication with the host (quick responses and wanted to make sure our stay went well). We will be talking about this trip for years to come and that is in great part to staying at this location. "
