Me and my husband stayed here in May and we were really surprised by the hotel. It is very cute, well kept, and our room was big with a lovely balcony and hammock. It was perfect for us for 2 nights and visiting coroca valley and the coffee region. It was also 5-10 min walk to the restaraunts. The staff were also lovely and very helpful! Based on the star rating on expedia we definitely thought it was much better and would stay here again! We thoroughly enjoyed the evening by the bonfire too, a lovely touch.

Hotel Kawa is located in the mountains of Salento with an amazing view of the Andes. It is walking distance to the town of Salento and the hotel offers a complimentary shuttle from the plaza back to the hotel at 9:00pm daily. Hotel Kawa staff is very friendly and they were very helpful in arranging our airport transfers and our day trips. The hotel serves dinner nightly, and it was better than any options we found in the town. Breakfast at the hotel was included in our rate and consisted of a large buffet (fruit, a few cheeses and meats); it also included our choice of a breakfast entree. There is also a small hot tub and sauna that you can book at no charge. Our room was like a large tree house with a porch that had chairs, a hammock, and beautiful views. Some bugs do get in the room, but that’s to be expected when you are staying in a tree house in the mountains and the sliding glass door is open (there is a screen). The room doesn’t have air conditioning (temperatures in this area don’t warrant AC) or a television. WiFi isn’t a strong signal, but it does work, you just need to be patient. Overall, this is a great place to unplug and enjoy Salento and its surrounding areas.

This place is a gem, beautiful property, great hike, good food, friendly staff. Only downside is an insane policy that you aren't allowed to use the hot tub. You need to book it 2 hours in advance and it costs approx $15CAD per person. As a result it sits there unused in this amazing location or would be such a massive asset of the ownership didn't ruin it by having it be the only per per use hot tub in Colombia. Honestly even with this it's probably worth it. If they fixed that issue this would be one of the nicest places I stayed on my whole trip.

Excellent food

A magical stay. The location is stunning—surrounded by mountains, the sound of the river, and nothing but birds in the morning. The house is beautiful and full of charming details. Bella’s attention made all the difference; she prepared a fresh, delicious breakfast tailored to each of us every day. I highly recommend this place if you want to truly disconnect. I can’t wait to return.
